Before you even take the instrument out of the case though, make sure that you have the case on a flat surface and RIGHT SIDE UP. Only then should you open the case. Otherwise, you risk having all of the pieces of your instrument fall out of the case.

 

When handling your case, always place it down gently. Never drop, throw, or kick it. Do not sit on any instrument case. The weight can cause the case to warp and the instrument inside to become damaged.
