Mr. Nick Jacques is currently in his 7th year of teaching at Carson Middle School in Carson City, Nevada. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Nevada, Reno. As a middle school educator, Mr. Jacques grew the bands at Carson Middle School from 110 students in 2012 to 230 students in 2018. He now leads 5 concert bands and 1 jazz band, and his students consistently earn top ratings and honors at area festivals, parades, and competitions. Many of his students also participate in area honor bands and Nevada’s All-State Band.  During summers, Mr. Jacques hosts a summer jazz band camp in Carson City, attends Lake Tahoe Music Camp as a saxophone instructor, and assists area high school band directors with marching band camps.

In 2018, Mr. Jacques was chosen as the new director of the Capital City Community Band in Carson City. He serves on the board of directors for the Nevada Music Educators Association as northern zone representative and All-State Music Festival coordinator. In 2014, Mr. Jacques has been honored as the New Music Educator of the Year by the Nevada Music Educators Association.  Mr. Jacques is a member of the National Association for Music Education and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity.
