Open to students by audition only, the award winning advanced band performs the most challenging and exciting literature available to middle school bands. Students in this band are held to the highest musical standards. This band begins the year with fundamentals, including learning how to march in preparation for the Nevada Day Parade, Veterans Day Parade, and the Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade. This band also performs in the winter and spring concerts, Band-O-Rama, and at least one band festival (typically in March/April). Many members from this ensemble will be members of the Honor Band and many go on to perform in Carson Middle School's Advanced Band or Carson High School's Wind Ensemble. Several students will also be selected to represent Carson Middle School in the All-State Band.
In addition to these local performances, this band prepares 30 minutes of music for a performance in Disneyland. These students will also perform for students at a couple of local schools and play a soundtrack recording session in Disneyland.

As the school's top performing ensemble, these students also represent Carson Middle School by performing at assemblies, community events, and fundraisers thorughout the year.
